Abstract:

Introduction: Usually osseointegration takes between three to six months after implant placement but patients are interested to have early loading. There are no definitive criteria for measuring bone mineral density (BMD), insertion torque (IT) (final torque force) and resonance FREQUENCY analysis (RFA) (primary implant stability) to determine exact loading time based on the relationship between the above-mentioned parameters. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between IT, RFA and BMD in screw-type implants.Materials and Methods: This clinical trial was conducted on 18 patients who were candidates for ITI implant placement. Written consent was taken and jaw bone density was determined via a digital radiography technique before surgery. After implant placement, RFA and IT were measured. Fifty-five ITI implants of the total 62 implants placed were evaluated; the implants were 12 mm long with a diameter of 4.1 mm. Data was analyzed with Pearson’s test using SPSS.15 software (a=0.05).Results: There was a significant relationship between IT, RFA and BMD. Pearson’s test showed a correlation coefficient of 0.872 to 0.789 between the three parameters, indicating a strong relationship between them. The mean bone density was 1.468±0.042 g/cm2; the mean RFA was 66.01±2.2 ISQ and the mean IT was 34.62±3.33 N/cm2.Conclusion: Based on the results of the present study there is a significant relationship between, IT, RFA and BMD (p value=0.001).

Aim and Background: The main purpose of this study was to review the effectiveness of applied BEHAVIORAL analysis (ABA) approach on symptoms of autistic children during a five-year period. Methods and Materials: In this quasi-experimental study, 20 autistic children (3-7 years of age) were intervened by ABA approach at Isfahan Center of Autism for a period of five years (2007-12). Gilliam Autism Rating Scale (GARS) was filled out at baseline and at the end of the five-year period. Besides, the subjects were assessed by a checklist including cognitive comprehension, mathematical and verbal skills, and self-help at the beginning of the study and at the end of each year. After five years, all collected data was analyzed with SPSS19.Findings: Pretest and the posttest values of stereotypic behaviors, communication problems, social interactions, and GARS total scores were significantly different (P<0.001). Furthermore, significant improvements in cognitive comprehension, mathematical and verbal skills, and self-help were observed after each year and at the end of the five-year period (P<0.001).Conclusions: On the whole, it can be concluded that ABA-based interventions can effectively reduce symptoms of autism and increase skills.

Abstract:

Health monitoring allows small failures and damages to be identified and fixed before they turn into major and irreparable damages, to prevent loss of life and to make it possible to reinforce or improve it at the lowest cost. Currently, in the field of civil engineering, the health monitoring of structures is done in sensitive structures. One of the parts of the structure that may suffer initial damage before loading and during implementation due to difficulty in implementation is Concrete Filled Tube (CFT)columns.  One of the most likely damages in CFT columns is interface debonding damage. This damage causes the column to become weak and not benefit from the characteristics of steel and concrete together. Accordingly, in the present study, this damage and its severity in seismic (dynamic) parameters have been investigated. The results of the study show that damage causes changes in the mode shape of the structure, and it has caused a 6.38% reduction in the FREQUENCY in the first (main) mode of the structure. Also, the damping of the damaged specimen is reduced by approximately 12% compared to the healthy specimen. On the other hand, the results show that the severity of damage is very effective in changing seismic parameters. So that by doubling the damage area, the FREQUENCY decreased by approximately 0.35% and reached from 873.27 Hz to 20.870.20 Hz, but the mode shape of damage did not affect the FREQUENCY

Background & Aims: Emotional problems are common and annoying for patients affected by epilepsy. Despite the increasing attention of medical science, the neurological aspects of epilepsy and its psychological effects are remained almost unknown. This study aimed to evaluate the impact of cognitive-BEHAVIORAL stress management on reducing the FREQUENCY of seizures in dealing with the type of epilepsy in adolescents with epilepsy.Materials & Methods: In this pilot study, 40 patients with epilepsy (20 patients with general epilepsy, and 20 patients with focal epilepsy) were selected by convenience sampling from Tabriz Epilepsy Society, and then they were randomly divided into two groups: Control and Experimental. The rage of their age was 14 to 21 years old. To obtain the data, the FREQUENCY of seizures of the patients was collected two months before the intervention. (The FREQUENCY of attacks was about 3 to 6 times). Before the start of the first session, Lvynda questionnaire was delivered to measure stress, depression and anxiety of the patients. The experimental group (10 patients with General epilepsy, 10 patients with Focal epilepsy) was intervened by cognitive-BEHAVIORAL stress management intervention for two months. Data analysis was performed using the spss 21software.Results: The results showed that Cognitive-BEHAVIORAL stress management intervention in patients with epilepsy resulted in the reducing of the FREQUENCY of seizures. There was no significant difference between general and focal epileptic patients. Based on the results of the study, there was a significant relationship between emotional distress and the FREQUENCY of seizures. Conclusion: Psychological interventions to reduce the FREQUENCY of the seizures can be an effective factor. So in addition to medicine therapy, this method can be used to improve the condition of in the epileptic patients.

Abstract:

Introduction: Blood donation rate in developed countries is 18 times higher than developing countries. It is estimated that if only five percent of Iran population embark on blood donation, it will be adequate to meet the needs of the community. The aim of this paper is to identify the blood donators’ loyalty behavior for proper planning to extend and enhance blood donation habits among the community. Methods: A cross-sectional survey was applied through census in the present study. The data extracted from blood transfusion center of Tehran from 2005 to 2010 was used in this study. Clementine 12. 0 was used for data analysis. K-Means clustering is based on demographic data and RFM values modes which were applied to obtain the best ratio among different fields. Results: The mean value of root mean square standard deviation for RFB-based clustering and demographic were 10. 7194 and 11. 1411, respectively. This finding confirmed better data clustering by RFB-based algorithm. The data were placed by RFB-based algorithm in four clusters. The fourth cluster consisted of single males who obtained the best loyalty rank and the third cluster consisted of married females who obtained the least loyalty rank. Conclusion: Applying data mining methods for analysis and classification of blood donors changes current attitude towards blood donation procedure. Survey of donor behavior helps us to identify faster and more precise donor loyalty as well as having proper management of the blood transfusion centers.

Abstract:

Background: Up to 71% of trauma victims diagnosed with PTSD have frequent nightmares (NM), compared to only 2% to 5% of the general population. Objectives: The present study examined whether nightmares before the beginning of cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) could influence overall PTSD symptom reduction for 71 individuals with PTSD and different types of traumatic events. Patients and Methods: Participants received a validated CBT of 20 weekly individual sessions. They were evaluated at five measurement times: at pre-treatment, after the third and ninth session, at post-treatment, and at 6 months follow-up. Results: The presence of nightmares did not impact overall CBT efficiency. Specific CBT components were efficient in reducing the FREQUENCY and distress of nightmares. Conclusions: Most participants no longer had PTSD but some still had nightmares.
